Word of the week (as we are knee-deep in NECAPs):

Eustress is good stress. Stress is simply an external stimulus, eustress is the feeling you get when overcome with the excitement and anticipation of a desired outcome.Eustress was first introduced by Hans Selye MD, an endocrinologist. Eustress is a process of exploring potential gains
The eustress of the moment overcame him with passion as he contemplated the realization of his goals.

Attention    !!NECAPS ZONE!!  Caution

Math Students, NECAPS will consume most of your week. 
I will see you whenever possible, but it is unlikely we will have a scheduled class.

GRADE 6: Work in your IXL accounts when you have time. LP - a few more GCF and LCM word problems are necessary. DH - get your story into a google doc. GH, TW - finish your poster, NL - begin work on 8th grade "Linear Functions" in IXL, everybody - in IXL Sections D and E in 8th grade.

GEOMETRY: Work on these questions in sections 3.1 and 3.2  of your book and have them completed by Wednesday 


read 3.1 - p. 149 q. 3, 4, 5

read 3.2 p. 157-160 q. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, 19, 23, 24, 30, 31, 32, 34, 35, 36, 39, 41, 42, 43, 45, 46, 47, 51, 52

ALGEBRA: Look for your Pre-assessments from your teachers. RETURN them to me when you have finished reviewing your work.

On Friday, during math/AF or at home over the weekend if necessary, work on these skills:  everybody - 
- addition/subtraction in algebraic expressions (IXL.Algebra.I2 & J3), 
- vocabulary (write definitions of key vocabulary listed on page 131 for your reference section), 
- properties (write out the properties on pp. 134-5 in your reference section, memorize them, do IXL.8thGrade.Properties.AA1-AA4). 

On Monday, in class, come prepared to do questions 56-63 together from pp. 139-140.
